Herbal tea recipes for immunity

With cold season approaching, I wanted to share some of my favourite immune-boosting tea blends that I've perfected over the years:

Golden Shield Tea

  • 1 tsp turmeric powder (or fresh grated)
  • 1/2 tsp ginger (fresh is best)
  • A pinch of black pepper (helps turmeric absorption)
  • Honey and lemon to taste

Echinacea Defence Blend

  • 1 tsp dried echinacea
  • 1 tsp elderflower
  • 1/2 tsp rosehip
  • Steep for 10-15 minutes, strain, add honey

Thyme & Sage Throat Soother

  • Fresh thyme sprigs and 2-3 sage leaves
  • Steep 8 minutes in just-boiled water
  • Add a teaspoon of raw honey once slightly cooled

The Golden Shield Tea is my absolute favourite! I've been making something very similar for years. I also add a cinnamon stick — it gives it a lovely warmth and has its own anti-inflammatory properties. Thank you for the Echinacea blend, I'll try that one next.
