I've been dealing with lower back pain for over five years now. Tried everything conventional — pain meds, physiotherapy, even considered surgery. What actually made a lasting difference was a combination of regular massage therapy and gentle yoga.

The massage therapist I work with specializes in deep tissue and myofascial release. It's not always comfortable during the session, but the relief afterward is incredible. We've gone from weekly to bi-weekly sessions as things improved.

I still have bad days, but they're less frequent and less intense. If anyone else is dealing with chronic pain, don't give up. Sometimes the answer is in the less obvious places.

Thank you for sharing your journey, James. As a massage therapist, I can confirm that myofascial release combined with movement therapy is one of the most effective approaches for chronic lower back pain. The fact that you're down to bi-weekly sessions is a great sign of progress. Keep it up!

I can so relate to this. My chronic pain is in my neck and shoulders from years of desk work. Massage helps but I also found that regular swimming made a huge difference. Have you tried any water-based therapies?
