I lost my mother six months ago, and the grief has been overwhelming. Therapy and support groups help, but I still carry this heaviness in my chest that words alone can't seem to reach.

A friend suggested I try energy healing — specifically Reiki. I was hesitant, but after my first session I felt something shift. The practitioner didn't even touch me, just held her hands near my body, but I could feel warmth and tingling. By the end, the tightness in my chest had loosened.

I'm not saying energy healing replaces grief counselling or therapy. But for me, it's been a powerful complement. It reaches the parts that talking can't always access.

If you've experienced loss and tried any form of energy work, I'd appreciate hearing your story. Sometimes it helps just to know you're not alone in this.

Nina, I'm so sorry for your loss. What you describe is very common — grief manifests physically, and sometimes bodywork or energy work can help release what's stored in the body. I've seen clients make significant breakthroughs when they combine talk therapy with somatic or energy-based approaches. Take care of yourself.

Thank you for sharing something so personal. I went through a similar experience after losing my father. A friend introduced me to a Pranic healer, and it helped me enormously. The heaviness you describe — I know exactly what you mean. It does get lighter with time and with the right support.

Sending you strength, Nina. I've worked with clients processing grief, and what you're experiencing is the body's natural way of holding emotions. Combining energy work with gentle movement — like yoga or tai chi — can also help the processing. Don't rush yourself.
