When alternative medicine isn't enough

I want to start a conversation that I think is important but sometimes gets avoided in holistic health circles. Last year I was dealing with persistent stomach issues. I tried everything: herbal remedies, acupuncture, dietary changes, probiotics. Some things helped temporarily, but the problem kept coming back. After eight months, I finally went to a gastroenterologist. Turns out I had H. pylori — a bacterial infection that needed antibiotics. Two weeks of treatment and the problem was gone. I still believe in holistic approaches. They're a core part of my life. But this experience taught me that there are times when conventional medicine is not just helpful — it's necessary. Ignoring serious symptoms because "natural is better" can be dangerous. I think the healthiest mindset is knowing when to use which tool. What are your thoughts? Has anyone else had a similar experience where they needed to step back from alternative approaches and seek conventional treatment?
